David Herbst Rejoins Mercury Air Group as Executive Vice President

Los Angeles, CA (April 28, 2008)—David A. Herbst has been named Executive Vice President of Corporate Strategies for Los Angeles based Mercury Air Group, Inc., a global leader in the aviation services industry. He is responsible for helping implement the strategic growth of the company under the direction of its Chairman & CEO Joseph A. Czyzyk. Mercury Air Group provides aviation petroleum products, air cargo services and transportation as well as support services for international and U.S. commercial airlines, general aviation and U.S. government aircraft on five continents in more than 60 locations.

Prior to rejoining Mercury Air Group, where in the early 1990s he served as Director of Corporate Relations when the company was publicly held, Herbst distinguished himself in the public relations arena, leading numerous high-profile public relations and public affairs campaigns. As Senior Vice President and General Manager of MWW Group, one of the nation’s top 10 public relations agencies, Herbst led the Los Angeles office to historic profitability and gross revenue levels in 2007.

His skills, energy and passion will help drive Mercury’s growth for years to come. Currently, Herbst is a Director of the William H. Hannon Foundation, dedicated to the financial support of schools and non-profit organizations throughout Southern California. He also serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of Marymount College in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA, on the Bellarmine College of Liberal Arts Advisory Board at his alma mater, Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, as well as on the Board of Governors of Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles.

Herbst has served as president of two chambers of commerce in Southern California and as both a Los Angeles City Commissioner and Los Angeles County Commissioner. Herbst has also he served as Honorary Mayor of Westchester, the Los Angeles community where he and his family reside.
