John Peery Promoted to Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of Mercury Air Cargo

John E. PerryJohn Peery, has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Executive Vice President, Mercury Air Cargo, Incorporated. His responsibilities include expanded leadership within Cargo HandlingMAC CargoMercury Aviation Services, Vulcan Aviation and HPL-Apollo Freight.

As Vice President of Cargo Operations, John has grown the cargo handling enterprise by providing reliable and dependable services to his customers. Mercury is able to achieve this level of service to customers as a direct result of their effective and innovative managers who support and set their customers up for success. John says, “It is refreshing and inspiring to be a part of a company that is committed to supporting customers, as well as the needs of employees. In his new leadership position, John is eager to continue pursuing new customer relationships and exploring new opportunities for growth within the core business and through diversification. John E. Peery has over 40 years of experience in the air cargo industry. John began his cargo career as a warehouseman. He spent 13 years with Air New Zealand in positions of increased responsibility, including Cargo Operations Supervisor and Cargo Manager, North America as well as Manager of Air New Zealand’s operations in Hawaii and the Central Pacific. Prior to joining Mercury, Mr. Peery was a General Manager for the Northwest U.S. and Regional Vice President for the Western U.S. at Aeroground which was acquired by Menzies Aviation. While with Aeroground/Menzies, he had direct responsibility for operational, sales and financial oversight for the Los Angeles, Portland, Seattle, Dallas, Vancouver and Calgary cargo operations. With John’s leadership, Mercury is proud to be the largest and longest serving aviation provider serving at LAX.

John earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Management from Long Beach State University. He enjoys spending quality time with wife of over 32 years and his daughter. He is also an avid golfer.
