Maytag Responsible for Operation and Maintenance of Contract at Al Udeid Air Base in Doha, Qatar

Al Udeid Air Base in Doha, Qatar is the home to Central Command (CENTCOM). Maytag Aircraft operates a large Type III Fuel System for the Defense Logistics Agency - Energy (DLA-E). Maytag is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the contract owned and contracted operated (COCO) facility that was designed and constructed by Fueling System Contractor LLC (FSC) with it providing all O&M services. Maytag is into 7½ years of a potential 20 year contract. The amount of jet fuel transferred through this system is the largest Maytag has ever been responsible for and exceeds on average 1 million gallons per day. “Maytag is very proud of the role that we play in support of the U.S. and NATO mission at Al Udeid Air Base, which is central to the war in Afghanistan and other military concerns in the Middle East,” said David Nelson, President and COO of Maytag Aircraft Corporation.
