Mercury Celebrates 55th Anniversary

Debuts Video That Focuses on Longevity & Teamwork of Mercury's LAX Employees

Los Angeles, CA (October 24, 2011): The following are comments by Joseph A. Czyzyk, Chairman & CEO of Mercury Air Group, on the debut of a video to celebrate Mercury’s 55th Anniversary:

“This year marks Mercury’s 55th Anniversary. Stretching back to our founding by three fighter pilots from the legendary Flying Tigers, our success comes down to two important ingredients—our people and our teamwork. Our anniversary video focuses in on both—the longevity and teamwork of our employees at LAX, which has been the cornerstone of our success.

We were founded right here at LAX and have been a part of this airport’s growth for the last 55 years. Our employees were here when the airport inaugurated its first jet service with a Boeing 707 flight from New York to LAX through today, as we help numerous international airlines meet their cargo handling needs. I am proud of our history, but I am especially proud of our employees. Truly, our teamwork has made the difference.

While this video focuses on our employees at LAX, we are a global company. I thank each of our employees—from those helping to source jet fuel around the globe to our team members assisting our U.S. military at bases throughout the world. I could not be more proud and appreciative of my fellow employees.”
