Moving Forward in Turbulent Times

As is true for much of world trade business, Mercury Air Cargo has been significantly impacted by the Coronavirus and the disruption of flights in and out of Asia. With the reduction of flights, there is a corresponding reduction in cargo handling.

In the midst of this turmoil, Mercury Air Cargo is moving forward and continues to meet the service requirements of our customers.

John Peery, President and Chief Operating Officer, is pleased to announce that the company has secured a new handling agreement with Scandinavian Airlines commencing May 1, 2020. The airline has daily flights from LAX to Copenhagen.

“We are pleased to begin working with Scandinavian Airlines at LAX as an adjunct to our ongoing relationship at SFO,” says Peery.

Mercury Air Cargo has other proposals out in response to bids and Peery is hopeful of success.

Lastly, the company continues to hear appreciation about their services and staff.

Recently, when Jason Kerr, Police Officer and Owner of MAKOR K9 of West Virginia, used the services of Mercury Air Cargo through Alaska Airlines, he found the customer service on January 16 so outstanding he took the time to write a note.

“I want to take the time to write a huge thank you to the staff at Alaskan Air Cargo LAX and especially Laura Ortega. Laura was one of the most professional people I have ever had the pleasure of doing business with. She answered all my questions, helped me lift my crate, and even made phone calls for me to get questions answered and fix my bill. Coming from a business owner, this is the type of people who make your business great. From now on I will fly all of my dogs with Alaskan. You have definitely impressed me and earned all of my business.”

MAKOR K9 has three locations in the United States and ship dogs all over the world. They are leaders in the training of canines for service in law enforcement, search and rescue, personal security, and detection.
