Steven Connolly Joins Mercury World Cargo as Vice President

Veteran Cargo Leader to Grow Mercury World Cargo

Los Angeles, CA (April 15, 2009): Mercury Air Cargo, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Mercury Air Group, Inc., announced today that Steven Connolly has been hired as Vice President of Sales for Mercury World Cargo. Connolly will be responsible for growing the airline and logistics business for Mercury World Cargo, a FAA Part 135 certified carrier.

"Steve is a well respected cargo veteran. He has strong leadership qualities and long term relationships with freight forwarders and airlines. Steve will help us implement our aggressive growth strategy for Mercury World Cargo throughout the U.S. We were attracted to him because of his know-how and proven results," said Zack Vernikovsky, Executive Vice President of Mercury World Cargo.

Connolly brings more than 20 years of experience in air cargo sales with Mexicana, Aeromexpress and AeroUnion. He successfully implemented the commercial startup of AeroUnion at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), progressively increasing from five to fourteen weekly freighters, while also expanding service to O’Hare International Airport (ORD) with two weekly freighters. At Aeromexpress, Connolly established that carrier’s first ever scheduled B747 Freighter service from LAX to Internacional Benito Juarez (MEX) in Mexico City, achieving 100% load factors.
