Three Appointments/Promotions to a newly designed position of Assistant Terminal Manager at Mercury Air Cargo

Mercury Air CargoMercury Air Cargo is pleased to announce the creation of a new management position, Assistant Terminal Manager. This new position has been filled by Nelio da Matta, Reginald Harris, and Paul Rendon. Find out more about our new Assistant Terminal Managers below.

Nelio da Matta

POSITION:

Assistant Terminal Manager for RU, QR and CFS operations, at the newly expanded 216 warehouse, on the south side.

RESPONSIBILITIES AS ASSISTANT TERMINAL MANAGER:

As Assistant Manager for QR, RU and CFS, I am in charge of the day-to-day operations for these clients. I ensure CS and quality standards are met according to the expectations of our clients and oversee the selecting and training of our personnel.

PREVIOUS POSITIONS:

Previously I worked with Mercury Air Cargo for 14 years, from 1994-2008, and have been within the industry since then. Prior to Mercury Air Cargo, I was the Operations Manager for AU at LAX. My job encompassed CS, warehouse and Ramp.

ADDITIONALLY:

I am very happy to return to Mercury Air Cargo after a brief six-year hiatus and very happy to see how much our company has grown in the meantime. I’m eager to respond to my new responsibilities in a manner that is above and beyond the expected level.

Reginald Harris

POSITION:

Assistant Terminal Manager for the Avion facility (213).

RESPONSIBILITIES AS ASSISTANT TERMINAL MANAGER:

In the position as Assistant Terminal Manager, I assist the Terminal Manager with oversight of cargo operations. I ensure all training needs that are required for all our employees, ensure a safe and secure work environment, help to resolve any issues/problems that may come up with our customers, and work to meet all administrative objectives.

PREVIOUS POSITIONS:

I have been at Mercury for 16 years. Before being named the Assistant Terminal Manager for the Avion facility, I was the Account Manager for our All Nippon Airways account at the Avion facility.

ADDITIONALLY:

I am absolutely excited about the opportunity I have been presented in being named to this position. Already having the operational knowledge and experience of a floor manager and department manager, I can now develop a different perspective of the business and be exposed to additional challenges and expectations.

Paul Rendon

POSITION:

Assistant Terminal Manager for the LAX-3 Facility (217) handling Cathay Pacific and Pacific Air Cargo.

RESPONSIBILITIES AS ASSISTANT TERMINAL MANAGER:

My responsibilities involve overseeing the day-to-day operations for two of our customers, Cathay Pacific and Pacific Air Cargo. I ensure budgeted goals are reached, maintain the service level agreements we have set with our customer, and make sure we are always in compliance of FAA, TSA and other government regulations. I also perform yearly evaluations of all staff, interview and hire new personnel, provide support to the rest of the management team, and ensure all billing documentation is provided to our accounting department in a timely manner.

PREVIOUS POSITIONS:

For 10 years, I’ve been working with Mercury Air Cargo. Before being promoted to Assistant Terminal Manager, I held the position of Night Operations Manager at this same location.

ADDITIONALLY:

I am honored and excited to be given the opportunity to continue leading my team to success in my new position as Assistant Terminal Manager, while at the same time look forward to helping cement the reputation of this company as the premier ground handler at LAX.
